Clare (Teresa Palmer), a young Australian tourist, is backpacking in Germany, taking architectural photographs and exploring shops. In Berlin, she meets a local man named Andi (Max Riemelt) and has an overnight affair with him. The next morning, however, she discovers that he has locked her in her apartment. She believes him when she says she accidentally forgot to leave him a key, and she stays with him another night. Soon, however, Clare realizes that Andi has no intention of letting her go, and that he has written the word meine (mine) on her shoulder and stolen her phone’s SIM card. She tries to escape by breaking the windows, but discovers they have double glass. To her surprise, when Andi comes home, she acts as if nothing is wrong, offering her flowers and pesto. She screams and attacks him, but he physically stops her, then keeps her tied up.
